See and Feel the Money In Your Hands - Tips From Napoleon Hill

It is about 11:00 PM on Friday night and I find myself sitting down to read “Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill.  Specifically, I find myself in chapter four on Autosuggestion.

This is not the first, seconds, or even third time I’ve read this book.  In fact I have the book on audiotape and I tend to find myself listening to it often in my car while driving.

One of the exercises I have been doing lately is to, “See and Feel the Money in Your Hands”.

If you recall from an article and wrote earlier last week, you’ll remember that I actually took bullet points of the things I wanted to achieve and recorded them on an audio with music.

I’ve been listening to that audio with the bullet points of the things that I did want to achieve as a way to encourage me to visualize what it is I want and to, as Napoleon Hill would say, “See and Feel the Money in Your Hands”.

I have found especially useful that by adding music im more emotionally involved.  More than just reading and the bullet points I am feeling excited about achieving the bullet points and I can tell that part of that is based in the music that’s playing.

I am finding that the more I visualize, the more likely I am to continue to work toward my goals and the more likely I am to stay on track toward achieving them.

I also find it helpful to have an accountability partner to work with. They will help keep you on track with achieving your goals.  You can also help them keep on track with achieving their goals.  By helping each other, you both can achieve more.

Visualization and How It Helps Achieve Goals

Thursday, March 6th, 2008

I use a white board in my home office to jot down ideas, organize my plans for the day and keep me focused on the most important things to do in my life and business.

One of the things on my white board for today is a promise I made to Bob in my Mastermind group. Bob and I met on Tuesday for lunch to discuss Chapter 3 of “Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill. The promise I made to Bob was about the second part of the Self-Confidence Formula that is discussed in Chapter 3. It reads:

Second: I realize the dominating thoughts of my mind will eventually reproduce themselves in outward, physical action, and gradually transform themselves into physical reality; therefore, I will concentrate my thoughts for 30 minutes daily, upon the of thinking of the person I intend to become, thereby creating in my mind a clear mental picture.

This reminds me a lot of a similar concept from Psycho-Cybernetics by Maxwell Maltz and one that I promised Bob I would start to implement at our meeting on Tuesday.

So, as soon as I finish writing this, I am going to begin creating a list of bullet points of the things that I want to see myself becoming or doing.

From that bullet list, I will then record an audio of myself reminding me of these things and listen to this to “walk myself through the process daily”.

The idea is that if I have a guided tour everyday hitting every single idea I can focus on each idea and visualize myself doing it over and over again. If I find myself wanting to add or remove something, I can modify my bulleted list and re-record the audio.

By visualizing myself becoming and doing those things, it will help me achieve my goals.

Until my next post,

Using Blog Comment Software

Tuesday, March 4th, 2008

Over the last couple of days I have been looking into some software that would help make my job of commenting on blogs a bit easier. Last night in particular I starting to read up and research using blog comment software.

Now before some of your get all worked up over what you think that is, I will explain to you what it is not… it is not software that goes to blogs and makes a comment like “Nice blog!” or “I like your blog!” It is not software that will automatically go out and write all sorts of stupid comments on the blog, but what it will do is help me find blogs that are related to the topic I enter and make a nice list of them for me to visit, read the blog posts and make an intelligent comment on.

The nice thing about the software is you can find blogs that will give you the biggest return for your time invested. If you wanted to, you could sort the list by popularity and therefore post comments on the blogs that are most likely to bring you the most traffic.

If it takes you the same amount of time to comment on a blog, wouldn’t you want to do the more popular ones rather than the less popular ones?

I had lunch with my mastermind partner today (read Napoleon Hill’s Think and Grow Rich for more info on what that is) and we were discussing commenting on blogs. He is trying to improve his search ranking for a particularly good keyword in his business and I mentioned using software that I have been looking at and he is going to test it as well.

So, I will be testing the blog comment software and, if it works well, probably creating a new job opportunity for the people we hire to help us to read the blog and write a good, appropriate comment on  the blog for us.

Until my next post,
